We visited the picturesque village of Port Sunlight on a bright, warm day. Soaking in the peace, architecture and history of this little haven situated on the Wirral in the North West. Taking the train from Southport to Liverpool Central on the Northern Line, changing at Central to the Wirral Line to a train heading for Ellesmere Port stopping at Port Sunlight station on the way, couldn't of been easier. There are steps to the platforms at Port Sunlight train station. The village can also be accessed by car with free parking outside the Lady Lever Art Gallery.
This is approximately a 4 mile circular walk which will take roughly between an hour to an hour and a half to complete. It will take you past part of the Marshside RSPB reserve which is situated in Southport, a few miles from the town centre. It's an easy walk and suitable for dogs.
